Go to cursor.com and download the installer for your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux). It's free to install.

Run the installer you just downloaded. Follow the on-screen prompts — accept the defaults. Once installed, open Cursor.

Open a New Folder

In Cursor, click File → Open Folder. Create a new folder on your desktop called my-first-project and select it.

Press Cmd+L (Mac) or Ctrl+L (Windows/Linux) to open Cursor's AI chat panel on the right side.
